Former handy juvenile Hello Michelle gets a chance to show she is back on track this Sunday, but her new handler Young Keah Yong is in no hurry to make her a good thing yet.
Previously trained by Mark Walker, Hello Michelle is running in Sunday’s S$80,000 Class 3 Division 1 race over 1100m on Polytrack.
“When she first came to me, she already had some leg issues and that was why she had not raced for almost one year,” said Young.
“She has slowly improved and her last run was very encouraging. I would say she has kept improving after that, but she’s facing another strong field on Sunday.
“She will still find it hard to beat horses like Nowyousee, even if she is one kilo better off this time. She is a course and distance specialist but she can also handle turf.
“Look, she is a very competitive mare and I can only hope she continues to improve, even if I think she faces a difficult task on Sunday, especially from the wide gate (11).”
“Hopefully, Hello Michelle can run well for them on Sunday, even if I still think it’ll be tough for her.”
