Rich Hill Stud stallion Proisir secured his first trial victory as a sire in New Zealand when two-year-old filly Alto Potenza ran away to win her 600m trial at Foxton last week for trainers Johno Benner and Holly Wynyard.
“It was great to see Proisir’s first trial runner a winner,” Rich Hill’s John Thompson said.
“Her trainer Johno Benner has a bit of time for this filly. He’s going to race her at Wanganui on Saturday and then take her through to the Wellesley Stakes in October.
“Proisir didn’t race at two. The word from the breakers and trainers suggests his progeny are strong forward types and that we’ve got plenty to look forward to in the new year.”
Thompson said Proisir is receiving solid support once again from breeders after his yearlings proved popular when selling up to $160,000 at this year’s New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sale. – Rich Hill Stud
