The first southern hemisphere crop of Champion 2YO Belardo (Lope De Vega) have hit the ground, with a handful of arrivals at Haunui Farm so far this month.

“It’s an exciting time at Haunui as we welcome the arrival of Belardo’s first crop of southern hemisphere foals," Managing Director Mark Chitty said.

"We’re more than happy with what we are seeing so far and welcome anyone on to the farm to inspect them – I’m sure breeders will be impressed.”

A Group One winner at two and four, Belardo’s sire Lope De Vega has enjoyed a stellar 12 months with two Group One winners in Australia and overnight, he sired his 44th stakes winner.

Belardo is set to begin serving his second book of mares at Haunui Farm in 2018 at a fee of $12,000 + GST.  He and some of his first foals will be on public parade on Sunday 9th September at 11.30am as part of the Auckland NZTBA Stallion Parade.
