Calligraphy has black-type targets in her sights

Cambridge conditioner Ross McCarroll has black-type targets in mind for six-year-old mare Calligraphy, but that won’t be until later this year.
The daughter of Perfectly Ready has been hampered by foot issues, which will result in her missing early spring racing.
“She’s going to miss the earlier ones because she has had a little set-back with her feet, so it has just held her up a little bit,” McCarroll said.
“She had a reasonable spell and came back in about a month ago. She is just progressing, but won’t be back until about October before she starts off again.
“I’ll try and get a bit of black print with her if we can. I have nothing in mind at the moment, it just depends on how she comes up.”
