Promising four-year-old galloper Contraband will continue his racing career offshore after being sold to Hong Kong interests.
The Teofilo gelding had three starts in New Zealand for a win and two placings and was highly regarded by his trainer Ross McCarroll.
“He’s a really good horse, it’s just unfortunate that we have had to sell him,” he said. “He would be one of the best horses I have had.”
Contraband was last seen on the track at Counties in April where he showed a good turn of foot in the closing stages of the Fastrack 1400 to finish runner-up to multiple stakes placed gelding Hanger.
