Brian and Shane Anderton are likely to make a final decision this weekend on a Great Northern Hurdle (4150m) start at Te Rapa next month with Jackfrost.
He has been enjoying a leisurely time since he won the Grand National Hurdles (4200m) at Riccarton last week and credited the stable with its fourth win in the feature.
“We’ll be bringing him home from the farm on Friday and pull the rug off him and make a decision then,” Brian Anderton said.
“He ate up everything that night after the race and it’s likely he will go up to Te Rapa.
“There’s not much else for him this year and it’s better to press on now rather than wait for next year and risk something going wrong. He can go steeplechasing in Australia next year.”
