Former New Zealand galloper Sacred Rebel will have to overcome a wide gate to continue his winning form in Queensland on Saturday.
Successful at Caloundra last time out, he will jump from barrier 21 in a three-year-old handicap over 1615m at Doomben with jockey Skye Bogenhuber again charged with the job of guiding him to victory.
“He needs this run and the distance suits,” trainer Chris Waller's Queensland manager Paul Shailer said. “He and Skye will just need some luck.”
Sacred Rebel was a winner for Cambridge trainer Tony Pike before moving to Waller’s operation.
