Hugh Bowman and Winx after Monday's trial

Hugh Bowman gave a glowing report on the champion mare Winx following her 900m trial at Rosehill this morning.
“She’s certainly happy to be back,” her regular rider said. “She was a little edgy in the gates, but that’s not unusual. She jumped well and she was super in her trial. Between now and her next trial she’ll switch on in her work.”
Winx, who settled back and wide before running on in the straight behind winner She Will Reign, is being prepared for an unprecedented fourth Gr.1 Cox Plate (2040m) victory.
The future of the Group One-winning sprinter Chautauqua is in severe doubt after he again failed to jump out of the gates in Winx’s heat.
