Riccarton specialist Heni is being set for a defence of a southern black type title.
She has won six times on the South Island’s premier track, including the Gr.3 Canterbury Breeders’ Stakes (1400m) last spring.
“She’s back galloping and I’m very happy with her,” trainer Mike Breslin said. “She’s rising eight, but she hasn’t had a lot of racing. We’ll probably look toward the Breeders’ Stakes again.”
The winner of 11 of her 41 starts, Heni was spelled after she finished fourth in the Gr.1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes (1600m).
