A well-related youngster is making all the right moves for Matamata trainers Michael Moroney and Pam Gerard.
The un-named two-year-old by Ocean Park, who is a half-brother to Valachi Downs’ freshman sire and multiple Group One placegetter Savile Row, is now unbeaten in two trial outings following his success this week at Te Rapa.
“He had a great walk as a yearling, beautifully balanced, broke in well and has developed into a big, strong colt much in the mould of Savile Row,” Gerard said.
“He has a good way of moving, long striding and he loves his work. He is thriving.”
The colt was bred by Kevin Hickman and purchased by Paul Moroney for $130,000 from the Valachi draft at Karaka in 2017.
