Iffitel didn’t come through the Wellington Hurdles (3400m) at Trentham unscathed.
“She ploughed through one down the front straight and was never travelling,” trainer Glynn Brick said. “The jockey (Stuart Higgins) made the right decision to pull her up.
“We’ve had the vet to her and she’s a bit muscle sore.”
Iffitel had been unbeaten in her two previous jumping starts, including the Awapuni Hurdles (2900m).
