Group One winner Savvy Coup has re-joined the Michael and Matthew Pitman barn to prepare for a crack at the Hawke's Bay Group One triple crown.

The Savabeel filly spelled at part-owners Ray and Jill Coupland's Canterbury property and returned to the stable in outstanding condition, according to Matthew Pitman.

"She's such a favourite with Ray and Jill so she had plenty of time to relax and as much as she wanted to eat. She's very well."

Gr.1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) winner Savvy Coup had a trot and canter at the Pitmans' own property this week ahead of a build-up aimed at chasing her second Group One win in the Tarzino Trophy (1400m) at Hastings on September 1.

"She'll probably start off somewhere down here and then head north for the triple crown at Hastings," Pitman said.

"All the racing she did this season has made her a pretty mature racehorse. She just takes everything in her stride. We're pretty excited about her going forward."

Pitman said a spring campaign in Melbourne was in the offing should Savvy Coup perform with distinction at Hastings.
