Multiple Group One winner Werther has been given the green light for a tilt at Group One glory in Japan and departed for the land of the rising sun on Thursday morning.
The Tavistock gelding will line-up in the Gr.1 Takarazuka Kinen (2200m) at Hanshin racecourse on Sunday June 24, to attempt to add to his Group One tally.
Prepared by John Moore, Werther is a triple Group One winner. Originally trained by Andrew Campbell in New Zealand, Werther has won at Group Two level this season and been Group One placed on three occasions.
