Rising Red is at the top of his game for Saturday’s Gr.2 Brisbane Cup (2200m) at Doomben.
The New Zealand-bred son of Redwood was successful last time out in the Gr.3 Premier’s Cup (2200m) and has subsequently pleased trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young.
“He’s working well and we're really happy with him, he's definitely maintained his condition,” Busuttin said.
“He had a year between runs so it's great to see him getting back to the form we knew he could produce.”
Runner-up in last season’s Gr.1 New Zealand Derby (2400m), Rising Red was later side-lined by a suspensory ligament injury in the lead-up to the Gr.1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m).
