Unbeaten colt Justify will attempt to become just the 13th winner of America’s Triple Crown when he tackles the Gr.1 Belmont Stakes (2400m) in New York on June 9.

The Bob Baffert-trained Scat Daddy three-year-old triumphed in the Gr.1 Kentucky Derby (2000m) and backed that victory up in Sunday’s Gr.1 Preakness Stakes (1800m) with another hard-fought win.

“That was a nail-biter, I’m so happy that we got it done,” Baffert said. “He’s just a great horse, to handle all that pressure and keep on running.”

Owned by WinStar Farm, the China Horse Club, Starlight Racing and Head of Plains Partners, Justify was purchased at the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $500,000.

He was secured by Cambridge bloodstock agent Michael Wallace, the China Horse Club’s racing and bloodstock manager, along with Mick Flanagan and Tom Ryan of SF Bloodstock.
