Tavistock Abbey is out of Gr.1 Queensland Derby (2400m) contention.
The New Zealand-bred son of Tavistock disappointed at the Gold Coast last week and the Anthony Freedman-trained gelding will now undergo a wind operation.
Tavistock Abbey, who is part-owned by breeders Rich Hill Stud, has won two of his seven starts including the VRC Derby Trial (1800m) at Flemington in the spring.
