The lightly-raced Zedac looks a likely prospect to make his mark in better staying company following his tidy performance to win at Woodville on Thursday.
Trained by Fraser Auret, the six-year-old has now won twice from a handful of starts and claimed the Hewitt Motorcycles 2100m after a resuming fourth at Waipukurau seven days ago.
“It was quite sticky there and took his sprint away,” Auret said. “He’s not the type of Zed that likes wetter tracks so I was keen to back him up here when I saw it was a Dead 5.”
