A bold second-up showing is expected from Mr Conductor at Ashburton on Friday.
The five-year-old recently resumed with a third placing at Marlborough and trainer Danny Crozier said the horse has trained on particularly well.
“He hadn’t run for three months and that run has topped him off nicely, he’ll strip a lot fitter.”
Mr Conductor will again be ridden by jockeys’ premiership leader Samantha Collett in The Hanley Formula Autumn Sprint Championship Qualifier (1200m).
Crozier is also expecting Damanaka to go close to breaking his maiden in the Ashburton Racing Club Life Members’ 1400m.
