Vinevale is in good order to open a new campaign at Hawke’s Bay on Saturday.
She will make her first appearance in the Mulcaster Bloodstock Mile (1600m) following a South Island venture, which resulted in a fourth placing in the Listed Timaru Cup (1600m).
“She trialled at Te Awamutu the other day and she’s come through that very well,” said Jamie Richards, who trains the Flying Spur mare with Stephen Autridge.
The stable will also be represented at Hastings by the debutant Total Excess in the Karaka May Sale 2YO (1200m). “He’s trialled well and he’ll handle a bit of give in the ground,” Richards said.
