South Island sale
More than 100 thoroughbred yearlings will step through the ring for the annual New Zealand Bloodstock South Island Sale at the RDA Building at the Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch from 11am on Friday.
All yearlings purchased at the 2018 South Island Sale are eligible to enter the lucrative Karaka Million Series which comprises of two $1 million races - the 2019 Karaka Million 2YO and the 2020 Karaka Million 3YO Classic, as well as the $100,000 CollinsonForex Karaka Cup for the remainder of their career.
In the last five seasons the Sale has produced five individual Group winners and 15 individual stakes winners.
