John Sargent is bullish about the prospects of his New Zealand-bred filly Luvaluva in Saturday’s Gr.1 Vinery Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
The expatriate Kiwi trainer produced last season’s Gr.2 Wakeful Stakes (2000m) winner to add the Gr.3 Kembla Grange Classic (1600m) to her record last time out.
“She’s going the right way after the win at Kembla Grange,” he said. “She’s improved since then and the 2000m is right up her alley.”
The daughter of Mastercraftsman will run in the Gr.1 Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick on April 4 before a spell.
