Washdyke trainer Michael Daly will give his talented sprinter Don Carlo one more outing this season.
“He’ll go to Riccarton on April 7 for the 1000m race and then he’ll probably go to the paddock,” he said.
“He’ll come back and we’ll be looking at Cup week at Christchurch and after that we might think about Trentham.”
Don Carlo is unbeaten in two outings this year and the winner of seven from 13 career outings, his record also includes a runner-up finish in the Listed Pegasus Stakes (1000m) behind subsequent Gr.1 Telegraph (1200m) winner Enzo’s Lad.
