Promising filly Stella Noire has required patient handling and trainer Tony Pike believes she has a bright black type future.
The daughter of Showcasing was a smart debut winner at Ellerslie on Boxing Day and was then put aside to develop.
“We were thinking about the Matamata Breeders’ Stakes, but she’s quite a big filly so we turned her out,” Pike said.
“She’s back in work now and we might give her a run or two toward the end of the autumn and then bring her back for the good spring racing.”
