It’s job done for the highly-regarded filly Miss Valencia, who has been rewarded with a break.
The daughter of Ocean Park ran third in her first appearance at Wanganui before winning last time out at Trentham.
“She’s a lovely filly and she won well, we felt a spell now was in her best interests,” co-trainer Johno Benner said.
Miss Valencia held a nomination for the Gr.1 Courtesy Ford Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m), but connections felt that may have been a step too far at this stage.
“It would have been too much of an ask for her, she’s going to make a really nice three-year-old,” Benner said.
