Promising filly Milseain will chase further black type in Thursday’s Gr.3 Little Avondale Stud Lowland Stakes (2100m) at Hastings.
The sister to the international Group One winner Werther has made a bright start to her career with a debut win followed by placings in the Gr.3 Desert Gold Stakes (1600m) and the Gr.2 Sir Tristram Fillies’ Classic (2000m).
“Obviously, she’s only had a handful of starts and she is getting better with each run,” said Andrew Forsman, who trains with Murray Baker.
Stablemate and race rival Marcellina is still a maiden, but showed her staying potential when third in the Royal Stakes (2000m) and a last-start fifth in the Sir Tristram.
“We rode her out of her comfort zone from a good draw at Te Rapa and she’s better ridden off the speed,” Forsman said.
