Rangipo will strip in top order for Saturday’s Listed Marks Ween & Associates Kaimai Stakes (2000m).
“He’s very well and it’s a step back in grade for him and a big drop in weight,” trainer Tony Pike said. “It would be nice to get a win on the board, he’s been solid in all his runs this time in.”
Rangipo has finished fourth in each of his last four appearances, including a strong last-start effort under 59kg in the Gr.1 Herbie Dyke Stakes (2000m) and he will carry 54.5kg at Matamata.
