New Zealand-bred sprinter Music Magnate is thriving ahead of an international campaign.
The Bjorn Baker-trained six-year-old, who won a 900m trial at Rosehill on Monday, has been set for the US$1 million Al Quoz Sprint (1000m) at Meydan in Dubai on March 31.
“He's going really, really well. He’s definitely on target,” Baker said. “We are probably going to give him another trial at Randwick in a couple of weeks as we try to get him on the plane in the best possible order for what's in front of him.”
Purchased by Baker for $45,000 at the New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sales, Music Magnate has won nine races including the Gr.1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) and nearly $1.2 million in prizemoney.
