Danzdanzdance’s tricky barrier in Saturday’s Gr.2 Electrolux Waikato Guineas (2100m) at Ellerslie is a niggling concern for co-trainer Chris Gibbs.
“The draw (18) is awkward, it’s a short run to the first turn so there is a little bit of uncertainty there,” he said.
Danzdanzdance has won once from three appearances and last time out she finished off well for sixth in the Karaka 3YO Classic (1600m).
Gibbs, who trains with Donna Logan, has no such worries with stablemate Endowment, who will jump from gate eight.
“He’s got a nice draw and you just have to ride him where he’s comfortable,” he said.
Endowment was runner-up in the Gr.2 Auckland Guineas (1600m) on New Year’s Day before he finished a solid last-start fourth against the older horses at Pukekohe.
