Talented filly Astor will chase her first black type victory at Ellerslie on Derby day.
The Listed Mufhasa Stakes (1300m) on March 3 is the three-year-old’s goal, but the immediate focus is on Saturday’s Beko Appliances 1200m.
Astor delighted new trainer Cody Cole with her effort for second when resuming in the Gr.3 Mongolian Khan Trophy (1200m) and he said the daughter of Iffraaj hasn’t missed a beat since.
She will again be ridden by Cole’s partner Sam Collett at Ellerslie.
