The New Zealand Racing Hall of Fame will auction 2018 services to three stallions by way of silent auction at its induction dinner on Friday February 9.
The three stallions are:
Swiss Ace – kindly donated by Westbury Stud
Mongolian Khan – kindly donated by the Inner Mongolian Rider Horse Group; and
Preferment – kindly donated by Yu Long Park Stud
Swiss Ace is an internationally proven stallion and his yearlings sold well at Karaka last week with Book 1 horses selling for up to $180,000 and Book 2 horses up to $130,000. Swiss Ace stands at Westbury Stud in Karaka for a 2017 fee of $10,000+gst.
Mongolian Khan has just completed his second season at stud at Windsor Park Stud where he stood for a 2017 fee of $10,000+gst. He was a Champion three-year-old who trained on to win the Caulfield Cup at four. He served 148 mares in his first season at stud.
Preferment is one of the last Zabeel entires to go to stud and he stands at Brighthill Farm for a 2017 fee of $12,500+gst. Last year he served 120 mares in his first season at stud. He was trained by new inductee Chris Waller and won four Group One races during his racing career.
