Genuine three-year-old Hard Merchandize is enjoying a deserved break.
“He’s gone for a good spell,” trainer Gary Vile said. “He hasn’t missed a cheque all season.”
Hard Merchandize, who won the Gr.2 Hawke’s Bay Guineas (1400m) in the spring, was turned out after he finished seventh in the Karaka 3YO Classic (1600m).
“It was a good run at Auckland, but he didn’t quite see the mile out,” Vile said.
