The Tony Noonan-trained Manolo Blahniq appreciated the step up in trip to 1400m winning by two-and-three-quarters of a length over Glenrowan Prince at Caulfield on Saturday.
"He put them away well, he just got a bit tired late," jockey Ben Allen said.
"I might have pushed the button a bit early but I wanted to get him to that flat spot so he was really at his best when he hit the furlong."
Noonan purchased Manolo Blahniq for $115,000 from Curraghmore’s 2015 NZB Select draft when sold on behalf of Nearco Stud.
