Local bloodstock agent Paul Moroney made his presence felt early on day five at Karaka.
Active during the Book 1 catalogue with 14 individuals bought, Moroney was quick to add number 15 to his tally when he outlaid $75,000 for Lot 722, a Tavistock filly from the Seaton Park draft during the first session of the Book 2 catalogue.
“I thought she was a gorgeous, scopey filly who was the pick of this catalogue,” he said.
“I was actually surprised to see her in Book 2 and I’m pleased to get her.”
