Allpress waiting on specialist visit

Leading jockey Lisa Allpress will get a clearer picture later next month about her return to race-riding.

She suffered severe injuries in a fall at the Hawera jump-outs in October and has subsequently undergone one shoulder operation.

“It’s been fairly frustrating and I go back to the specialist on February 28 and then he’ll make a decision whether he needs to operate on the other shoulder,” Allpress said.

During her time on the side-line, she has been putting her experience to vital use by mentoring central districts apprentices.
