Karaka Million 3YO Classic Jockey Comments

1st Scott Base            Rosie Myers
He went super.  He showed that great sprint and was too good today.

2nd Embellish          Opie Bosson
It was a good run.  He just got to the front and had a good look around.

3rd Savvy Coup             Michael McNab
We almost fell at the 1400m. She was brave to run where she did.

4th Kapoor          Danielle Johnson
She went super, the interference late really didn't help her.

5th Ever Loyal           Leith Innes
It was a great run.  He did all the donkey work and will improve off that.

6th Danzdanzdance          Mathew Cameron
It was huge. From the draw, we went back and her last 600m will be interesting.

7th Hard Merchandize           Cameron Lammas
It was a big run.  A bit more easing in the track would have been up his alley.

8th On The Rocks         Jake Bayliss
He will be a better horse when he learns to take a sit in behind them.

9th Hasahalo         Sam Spratt
She had a nice run but just didn't sprint like she can do. She may just be better left handed.

10th Scream Park          Hugh Bowman
It was too firm for him today.

11th Marcellina          Michael Coleman
She ground home okay.

12th Athletica            Jonathan Parkes
It was an okay run.

13th Contessa Vanessa            Ryan Elliot (a)
No hope from where we were in the running.

14th Smokin' Oak              Samantha Collett
We jumped awkwardly and had to race in tight quarters.  He will learn a lot from the experience.

15th Alternative Fact           Alysha Collett
She needs a wet track.

16th Mighty Power           Jonathan Riddell
It was a bit of a sub-par effort.  He may have just had enough.

Last Secret Ambition           Mark Du Plessis
He was short stepping the whole way.

Karaka Million 2YO Jockey Comments

1st Avantage         Opie Bosson
We got a great run from the gate. I always had a lot of horse under me. When I let her go, she exploded and found the line great.

2nd Al Hasa          Hugh Bowman
Delighted with his effort.  She was too good for him today but he is a nice colt for the future.

3rd Bocce          Mathew Cameron
He stuck on great.  We got softened up a little but he will be better at three.

4th She's A Thief         Jake Bayliss
She was a touch slow away.  She balanced up nicely, got a little lost in the straight but her last 100m was great.

5th Pinot Grey          Cameron Lammas
She went great, box seated and traveled nice but just got tired late.

6th Thomas Aquinas           Jonathan Riddell
He went great for such green horse.

7th Sir Nate           Masa Tanaka
He ran home great.  We had to go back from the draw and he flew late.

8th Sowrd Of Osman           Michael McNab
He ran okay.  Its all probably just too much too soon for him.

9th Imelda Mary             Michael Coleman
It was a nice run, she made some nice ground.

10th The Real Beel            Danielle Johnson
She just couldn't sustain the blistering speed.

11th Boy Next Door          Rosie Myers
He is a neat horse.  His first look at Ellerslie he was a little green but he was finding the line nicely.

12th Hattie Bee         Sam Spratt
She just jumped too good for her own good because she just didn't have the speed to cross them, that meant we just got stuck wide. She will be better with time.

13th Scorch         Leith Innes
He has pulled up a bit sore by the looks.

Last Nirvana In Fire            Samantha Collett
He just got lost up the straight and the draw didn't help. He will keep.

Brighthill Farm Concorde Handicap Jockey Comments

1st Julius          Jake Bayliss
He is a big raw horse.  He won easy and still has plenty of big races left in him.

2nd Romancer          Cameron Lammas
It was a huge run for his first go in this company.  We got back and he has stormed home.

3rd Elusive Treasure          Trudy Thornton
Huge effort.  On a slower track or at 1400m he would have gone even closer.

4th Akoya          Danielle Johnson
She went super.  She just got a little lost around the corner but she fought hard in the straight.

5th Sultan Of Swing           Chris Johnson
We had to go back from the gate and he flew late.

6th Passing Shot           Samantha Collett
It was another tough run.  The week between the runs probably didn't help.

7th Lewis Caroll           Shaun McKay (a)
It was a good run.  He has missed a run recently and he had a good blow. He still has improvement in him.

8th Chachar            Alysha Collett
It was a good run.  She just needs a bit more of an off track.

9th Enzo's Lad            Sam Weatherley (a)
The 7 day back up under 60kg probably just proved to be too much.  He will be better further down in the weights.

10th Mahalo            Michael Coleman
Just a bit ordinary today.

11th Ferrando          Mathew Cameron
He was a little bit disappointing. The trip to Wellington and back probably took it out of him and the track is probably just not hard enough for him. He will keep after a break.

12th Fully Funded          Sam Spratt
He was disappointing today.

Last Speech Craft          Rosie Myers
He was a little disappointing.  He just wasn't going good enough when the run presented itself.

Westbury Classic Jockey Comments

1st Thee Auld Floozie          Hugh Bowman
It was a top win.

2nd Lizzie L'Amour            Mathew Cameron
It was huge run. 2000m next week will be ideal. She hit the line great.

3rd Coldplay           Jonathan Parkes
Another top run. Some more ground and she wins.

4th Montoya Star          Michael McNab
She ran huge.  She is only little. We just needed a better tow into the race.

5th Livin' On A Prayer          Cameron Lammas
She is probably a year off this company but it was a top run.

6th Caprikosa          Mark Du Plessis
It was a great run, there is black type in her somewhere.

7th Odisha          Alysha Collett
It was a great run.

8th Princess Kereru          Michael Coleman
She battled away fairly.

9th Somethingvain          Sam Spratt
We drew wide and chose to go forward.  We had to work but she fought on nicely.

10th Sweepstake          Chris Johnson
Led up easily, corned nicely but wilted the last 100m.

11th Ja Ja Binks          Leith Innes
She was disappointing.  The 1200m might be better for her.

12th Ruby Armani          Jake Bayliss
Hard to be competitive in this grade, back in grade she will be hard to beat.

13th Bella Court          Samantha Collett
The wide draw meant we had a bad run. She hit the line nice though.

14th Lovers Lane           Danielle Johnson
She was average today.

15th Our Abbadean          Opie Bosson
We just got back and stayed there.

Last Heni          Rosie Myers
Our run closed on us at the 200m , she was just knocked out of it.

Windsor Park Stud City of Auckland Cup Jockey Comments

1st Charles Road          Jake Bayliss
He is a very nice stayer.  He gave me a kick that wasn't as good as I know he can.  He is a Group 1 horse through and through.

2nd Five To Midnight          Hugh Bowman
It was a great Auckland Cup trial.

3rd Comin'Through            Cameron Lammas
It was a good run.  The barrier actually wasn't ideal for him. He travelled up and fought hard to the line.

4th Wildflower          Chris Johnson
It was a good run.  We got back and hit the line nicely.

5th Zacada           Danielle Johnson
He went good.  He probably just wants it a bit slower.

6th August Edition           Samantha Collett
It was a nice gutsy run.

7th Von Tunzelman          Leith Innes
He was just a little flat footed and one-paced.

8th Benzini           Rosie Myers
We had a terrible trip.  Its not ideal being caught wide with 60kg.

9th Symphonic          Mark Du Plessis
She just doesn't stay.

10th Diesel           Aisha Collett
The tempo wasn't run to suit.  We would've been better to lead.

11th Gobstopper           Sam Spratt
He probably wants some cut and a holiday.  He wasn't there today.

Last Smedley          Ryan Elliot (a)
It was a big ask for him out of his grade.

Mongolian Khan Trophy Jockey Comments

1st Melody Belle          Opie Bosson
She didn't even get out of second gear.  She has come back super.

2nd Astor          Samantha Collett
It was a top run.  The best thing for her was probably being a touch slow away. I got on Opie's back and she found the line nicely.

3rd Gift Of Power          Chris Johnson
It was a nice run.  She had to work early but still didn't kick like she usually does. I guess thats due to the fast pace.

4th Ladynadel          Danielle Johnson
It was a great run from her today.  She was knocked around a little in the straight. She did hit the line well and I think she will get up over 2000m.

5th Short Fuse          Cameron Lammas
She went well.  She is probably just looking for a little more ground in this company.

6th Caesour's Dream           Mathew Cameron
It was a nice run.  She was a little keen in front but back in grade she will be better off I feel.

7th Bombard          Michael McNab
She travelled up nicely but she just wants a nice Dead 5 track.

8th Beyond Dispute          Alysha Collett
He was a bit disappointing today.

9th Merlini         Leith Innes
As soon as I took a sit on him he just hung off the track.

Last Devine Love           Jake Bayliss
It was a hard field today and she isn't fully fit.  She is better being chased rather than doing the chasing. Back in grade I think she can win next start.
