Highlad is making good progress ahead of his tilt at Saturday’s Gr.3 Wallaceville Estate Wellington Cup (3200m).
The High Chaparral gelding was a winner at Te Rapa last month before he finished sixth on a rain-affected track in the Gr.2 Avondale Cup (2400m) at Ellerslie on New Year’s Day.
“He’ll have a good gallop tomorrow morning and we’ll make a final call, but he’s looking likely to be at Trentham,” said Andrew Forsman, who trains Highlad with Murray Baker.
