Grant Cullen has confirmed another Group One feature is on Wait A Sec’s February programme.
“His next start will be in the Taranaki Cup and, all going well, he’ll back up the following Saturday in the Gr.1 Herbie Dyke Stakes,” he said.
Cullen and training partner Guy Lowry produced a fresh Wait A Sec, who won the Gr.1 Livamol Classic (2040m) in the spring, to beat Asama Blue by the barest of margins in Saturday’s Gr.3 Anniversary (1600m).
“It was a great finish and we were pleased to come out on the right side of it,” Cullen said. “The Auckland Cup is his main aim.”
