A Pencarrow Stud-bred blueblood has sired his first winner from a handful of representatives.
Prince Conti opened his account when the Sue Thompson and Mick Brown-trained Kaipawe led all the way to easily break her maiden at Hawke’s Bay on Thursday.
“She drew one so I said to Sam to use the gate and she did,” Thompson said. “There’s a race at Otaki next for her and then a special conditions race at Wellington.”
An unraced three-quarter brother by Redoute’s Choice to Darci Brahma, Prince Conti retired to stud at Paxton Park in Cambridge in 2011 but only produced 10 foals in two seasons.
