Chris Waller is hoping for a return home for Ocean Park’s son Scream Park.
The expatriate New Zealand trainer is keen on a start in the Karaka Million 3YO Classic (1600m) at Ellerslie on January 27 for the colt, who on Wednesday at Warwick Farm was successful over 1400m in his third race day appearance.
Scream Park was purchased at Karaka last year for $185,000 from the Premier Sale draft of Lime Country Thoroughbreds.
“When you go to New Zealand you’ve got to buy something with a bit of quality and something our Australian investors respect,” Waller said.
“We’ve bought a few Ocean Parks so it’s good for us and good for New Zealand’s breeding (industry) if they can start to win a few races.”
Koru Thoroughbreds will offer a half-brother (Lot 92) by Dundeel to Scream Park during the Book 1 Sale at Karaka in 2018.
