The New Zealand-bred Mongolianlightning has struck for a second time in China.
The son of Bullbars made a winning debut there for trainer Rui Severino and he followed that up with further success at the weekend in the Sprint Cup at Chengdu, again beating the best gallopers in the country.
Mongolianlightning was bred and sold by Highview at the 2015 Ready to Run Sale at Karaka for $90,000 to Rider Horse China, headed by Lang Lin.
He was trained by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman to win one of his four New Zealand starts and also ran third in the Gr.3 Bonecrusher Stakes (1400m) before travelling overseas.
