Troy Harris has predicted a bright future for debut winner My Gene Genie.
The Cambridge-based rider guided the grey four-year-old to a first-up victory at Hawke’s Bay on Sunday for trainer Alex Oliveira, who was narrowly denied a double when Darci De Luca finished second in the following event.
“He’s a horse going places, he put them to sleep pretty easily,” Harris said.
My Gene Genie is a son of Mastercraftsman and the Listed Counties Bowl (1200m) winner Fiorenza.
