Beauty Generation has continued his march through the grades in Hong Kong with his second feature race win in three weeks, leading home a John Moore quinella and giving jockey Derek Leung his most notable career victory in the Gr. 2 Sha Tin Trophy (1600m) at Sha Tin.
The New Zealand-bred son of Road To Rock, who as Montaigne finished runner-up in the Gr.1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m), enjoyed a perfect trail and he rounded off strongly in the straight to beat his stablemate Booming Delight.
“The winner is a model of consistency, he had a perfect draw today. We were hoping to lead but when Winner’s Way pressed on, Derek went for Plan B – drop back and sit outside the leader. He’s hit the line well and just prevailed.”
