Stakes homecoming for smart mare

Untamed Diamond will resume her New Zealand career for Richard Collett at Rotorua on Saturday.

The Snitzel mare won three races for the Pukekohe Park trainer, who subsequently campaigned her in Sydney where she doubled her winning tally and was runner-up in the Listed Bright Shadow Stakes (1200m) at Doomben.

Untamed Diamond hasn’t raced since her Queensland placing in May, but was second at the Ruakaka trials earlier this month ahead of the Gr.3 Sweynesse Stakes (1215m).

“She trialled well over 1000m and she had a nice blow afterwards,” Collett said. “She’s coming up well and she’ll go straight to the Stewards at Riccarton after this.”
