Curraghmore Stud's NZB Ready To Run draft had a timely update when the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Formality won the Gr.3 Blue Sapphire at Caulfield on Wednesday.

Formality is a full sister to lot 174 the Fastnet Rock x Jolie's Shinju colt who will go through the ring on Wednesday November 22.

The colt breezed up in a time of 10.43 seconds on Tuesday at Te Rapa.

Running fresh since being sent for a spell following an unplaced run in the Golden Rose, Formality was sent off a $5 chance and dug deep to score by a long neck from Jukebox.

"Full testament to Lindsay Park. She's been able to go out into the paddock, go on the water walker and has freshened up beautifully," said David Hayes, senior trainer at Lindsay Park.

"Today I told Kerrin (McEvoy) to let her go under her own steam," Hayes said.

"If they want to go hard follow them, if they won't to go slow, lead.

"He's a very hard man to get past as we found out on Saturday."

Formality will now head to the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on November 4. -AAP
