Multiple Group One winner Kawi is back in work after time off following minor placings at the Hawke’s Bay carnival.
He was fourth in the Gr.1 Tarzino Trophy (1400m) and third in the Gr.1 Windsor Park Plate (1600m), striking unsuitable soft tracks on both occasions.
“He’s had two weeks off and he looks magnificent,” trainer Allan Sharrock said. “There’s nowhere to go until the Tauranga Stakes and three weeks after that is the Captain Cook Stakes at Trentham, hopefully we’ll get some good tracks by then.”
