Gingernuts will head back to Hawke’s Bay for the rescheduled Gr.1 Livamol Classic (2040m) on October 22.
Te Akau principal David Ellis has confirmed the Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards-trained son of Iffraaj, who won the Gr.1 Windsor Park Plate (1600m) at his last appearance, will run at Hastings before he heads to Melbourne.
“He’s going to the Livamol and then on to the Emirates Stakes on the last day of the carnival at Flemington,” he said.
“The target has switched from the Caulfield Cup to the Emirates and Steve and Jamie feel the Livamol is the best way to get there.
“Gingernuts is very well and he will be having a gallop with Chance To Dance after race two at Matamata on Saturday.”
Last-start Listed Karaka Classic (1600m) winner Chance To Dance is also a definite starter in the Livamol Classic.
