Connections of Beyond Dispute are prepared to play a waiting game with the smart colt.
The three-year-old was withdrawn from last Friday’s Te Rapa meeting and he will need a reasonable surface at Taupo on Wednesday to take his place in the Starlight Cinema Handicap (1000m).
“We took him out last week because of the track and he’s a front-running horse who drew out wide,” trainer Steven Cole said.
“We really like him and Taupo would suit him, but if the rain comes he won’t run.”
Beyond Dispute has won two of his six starts, including a last-start success at Ruakaka where he beat the subsequent winner Legramor.
