The spring campaign of the New Zealand-bred Group One winner Tavago is over.
Trent Busuttin, who trains with his partner Natalie Young, said the son of Tavistock was turned out after his unplaced run in the Gr.3 JRA Cup (2040m) at Moonee Valley last time out.
“He pulled up sore again so he’s gone straight to the paddock. We’ll concentrate on the autumn with him when the tracks are wetter.
“You’ve got to be smart about it and do the right thing by the horse.”
Tavago won the 2016 Gr.1 Australian Derby (2400m) and last season he also added the Gr.2 Sky High Stakes (2000m) to his record.
