The annual charity meeting at Pukekohe last Sunday exceeded expectations.
More than $16,000 was raised for the New Zealand Spinal Trust (NZST) after $9000 went to the cause 12 months ago.
The NZST is a registered charity to assist people with spinal cord impairments, a cause close to the racing community.
Aside from the funds raised, there was on and off the track entertainment, including sporting celebrities taking part in the Wheelchair Challenge against the New Zealand Wheel Black team.
