The New Zealand Spinal Trust (NZST) will benefit at Pukekohe Park on Sunday.

The Counties Racing Club’s meeting will host their annual charity race day to raise awareness and funds for the cause.

NZST is a registered charity that helps people with spinal cord impairments and the mission is to better the $9000 raised 12 months ago.

The day will feature entertainment on and off the track, with the jockeys competing in a ‘Moonhopper Race’, wood chopping displays and a booked out Spinal Trust function.

A celebrity team, made up of Black Fern Charmaine Smith, rugby player Zac Guildford, Waikato captain Dwayne Sweeney, top female jockey Sam Spratt and Trackside presenter Darryl Anderson will take on the champion New Zealand Wheelblacks team in a wheelchair challenge in the birdcage.
